Specific Duties:

Our client is searching for a SharePoint Developer to analyze business/user needs, document requirements, design and specify functional and technical solutions; and provide leadership through solution implementation. Must also be able to design test cases that ensure implemented solutions function without error/disruption to business operations.

 

Additional duties include:

  • Evaluate commercial portal technologies and architects solutions that meet organizational Portal requirements.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the business’ current technology/infrastructure.
  • Take ownership of problems or supports issues that arise in the operation of assigned business systems, ensuring that all issues are resolved in an expedient fashion and to user satisfaction.

Skills, Training, Experience Required:

  • Seven (7)+ years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical area or equivalent. Strong preference is given to those who have continued to upgrade their skills through education and training. 
  • Experience with MOSS, SharePoint, WebSphere or other major enterprise portal solution software.
  • C# and .Net development experience
  • Working knowledge of basic principles, features, and commands of Portal development technologies. Hands-on experience developing Portals and Portlet applications.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with multiple Portal designs on multiple technology platforms. Has consulted on or led the technical design of a high-impact, multi-technology complex applications. Is experienced with facilitating design reviews and walk-throughs.
  • In-depth knowledge of the design of effective Portals for various target audiences. Has experience with evaluating design effectiveness, readability, usability, intuitiveness, and navigation. Has successfully designed Portals for business users.
  • Has successfully completed many and varied functional requirements analysis. 
  • Expertise and broad experience using modeling tools for multiple requirements.
  • Monitors industry and vendor products for improvements and enhancements in best practices.
  • Significant experience in resolving complex, multi-component failures. Experienced with troubleshooting non-recurring and performance-related problems. Has successfully organized internal cross-functional teams to resolve major problems.
  • Experience planning, estimating, staffing, organizing, and managing multiple IT projects.
  • Ability to articulate requirements and manage expectations of both business and technical staff.
